MOELLER 16 ELDER 3 (5 INNINGS)
It was back to GCL league play today for the Moeller Freshman. Today, the Crusaders traveled to the west side of Cincinnati to take on the Elder Panthers at Cheviot Fieldhouse. Moeller got on the board in the first inning when
Griff Cady collected is first of three hits with 2 outs.
Zach Carty walked and Cady scored on a dropped fly ball to right field off the bat of starting pitcher,
Cam Porter. Elder answered in the home half of the first inning scoring 2 runs to take a 2-1 lead. Never under estimate The Big Moe! In the top of the third inning, Moe sent 9 batters to the plate and scored 4 runs on hits by
Zach Carty,
Max Tramontana, and
Jacob Masterson to go along
Cam Porter and
Carter Woolfolk getting hit by the pitch. The Frosh were just getting started. In the fourth inning, 12 more batters went plate ward.
Hayden Nelson walked,
Griff Cady singled, another walk to Carty, then 3 doubles and all shots by
Cam Porter, Colin Brandenburg, and
Max Tramontana. Woolfolk walked and Nelson singled to round out the inning of 8 more runs to send the score to 13-3. Moeller scored 3 more runs in the top of the 5th inning.
Cam Porter pitched 4.1 innings allowing 3 runs, all earned on 3 hits, 4 walks, and 5 strikeouts.
PJ Kaylor pitched the last two/third inning with 1 strikeout. Hitting leaders were

Griff Cady with 3 hits each,
