MOELLER 5   FAIRFIELD 0

Pitching was the name of the game again today as the Freshman traveled to Creekside Middle School in Fairfield.  It was Ryan Benne and PJ Kaylor that teamed up to toss Moeller's second straight shutout.  Benne went 5 innings allowing 2 hits, 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.  Kaylor slammed the door on Fairfield pitching the last 2 innings of 2 hit baseball, while striking out 3 batters.  Moeller scored 3 runs in the 3^rd inning which proved to be all they needed.  Carter Woolfolk and Phillip Langenkamp were hit by the pitch to start the inning.  Colin Berry put down a sacrifice bunt which the pitcher fielded and threw into right field to load the bases.  Woolfolk and Langenkamp both scored on wild pitches and Griff Cady lined a single up the middle to score Berry.  Cam Porter led off the 4^th inning by also getting hit by the pitch.  Colin Brandenburg bombed a ball to left centerfield to double home Porter for the Crusaders 4^th run.  We scored our last run in the 6^th inning.  Brandenburg reached on an error.  Woolfolk walked when Ian Johnston put down another perfect bunt.  Max Tramontana then drove a fly ball to deep right field for a sac fly to score Brandenburg.  Griff Cady and Zach Carty each had 2 hits to go along with a double by Colin Brandenburg.  Freshman record is 6-1 and 1-0 in GCL.
