SPRINGBORO 8 MOELLER 6 (SCRIMMAGE)
Under a sunny sky at the Blue Ash Sports Complex, the Moeller Freshman scrimmaged Springboro High School. The Panthers raced to a 5-0 lead after their first 4 at-bats. Moeller starting pitcher,
Max Tramontana, struck out the first 2 batters he faced before walking the next 2 batters and hitting the next batter to load the bases. Springboro followed with a base hit to take a 2-0 lead.
Griff Cady tossed the next 2 innings allowing 3 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks and 1 hit batter. But in true Moeller fashion, you cannot count the Crusaders out of any game. Bottom of the 4
th inning with 1 out,
Keelan Daniel walked and stole second base.
Hayden Nelson doubled Daniel home and scored on a
Cam Porter ground out. Springboro posted 1 more run in the 5
th inning to take a 6-2 lead. Moeller posted 3 more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning and tied the game in the 6
th inning on a Ryan Galanie double and
Nate Gaerke's single. Springboro scored 2 runs in the top of the 7
th with 1 out and runners on second and third, a fielding error by the first baseman allowed 2 runs to score. Moeller banged out 8 hits, led by
Griff Cady's 2 hits and hits by
Keelan Daniel,
Hayden Nelson,
Jason Galanie,
Nate Gaerke,
