Moeller Crusaders Varsity took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Conner. The game was tied at seven with Moeller Crusaders Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when
John Codner singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Moeller Crusaders Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Conner to score six runs in the second inning. Blake Fitzsimmons, Riley Stidham, Garrett Coghlan, and Derek Atwood each had RBIs in the big inning.
Conner opened up scoring in the second inning when Jackson Hall singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
In the top of the seventh inning, Conner tied things up at seven. An error scored one run for Conner.
Moeller Crusaders Varsity put up three runs in the third inning. Moeller Crusaders Varsity offense in the inning was led by Codner,
Michael Tennie, and
Parker Allen, all driving in runs in the frame.
Austin Strickland was credited with the victory for Moeller Crusaders Varsity. He surrendered one run on two hits over three innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Coghlan took the loss for Conner. He went two innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one.
Justin Hornschemeier started the game for Moeller Crusaders Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out five and walking one
Codner led Moeller Crusaders Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
Conner collected eight hits. Atwood and Louie Chirico each racked up multiple hits for Conner.
